Job View: "Weld Engineer Duties and Responsibilities: 1. PM and repair to weld equipement including robotic systems. 2. Design fixture tooling 3. Review welding equipement, welding consumable, electrical and mechnaical systems, robotic snd components associated with the welding process. 4. Support new model launch, train, coach and mentor engineering staff when required. 5. Overseeing spot welding, projection welding as well as sealer application system. 6. Project management when required. 7. Provide support and Interface with various department to resolve welding system problems. 8. PLC programing experience 9. Activiely support continuous improvement, benchmaking best practice and identification of material cost reduction opportunties for assigned commodity. 10. Creates weld assembly drawing, process sheets, control plans and quality standards.

Additional requirements: 1. Bachelor Degree in Weld Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering, Metalurgy with equivalent experience. 2. Experience with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs. 3. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product design safety, quality and workflow needs. Enxperience with GM/AW in a manufacturing environment. 4. AWS certification preferred 5. Hand-on high volume automotive stamping/complex weld assembllies plant experience preferred. 6. Hand-on manufacturing experience to include both class A and B stamping, welding process, roll forming, hydroforming and hemming with knoweledge of progressive, transfer and line/Tandem die contruction. 7.
