Hi Jim,

Thank you for your inquiry. I'll try to address your brief question.

FTI's sheet metal forming simulation software is a CAA application that
is fully embedded in CATIA. The data comes from any source within CATIA
and our solutions utilize the features of CATIA's GPS (Generative Part
Structural) analysis module.

Our complete pre and post processing is done within our code utilizing
the CATIA GPS module. The results are stored in the standard CATAnalysis
file.

If you are referring to importing/exporting IGES (CAD data) files, then
we are referring to native CATIA functionality for the same.

In a typical application, a user would either create native CATIA
geometry (solid or surface) or the user could import IGES, VDA, STEP,
etc. data into a CATIA Part. From there the user will move to the FTI
Application workbench and perform the simulation analysis. Results are
stored in the CATAnalysis file. Any changes to the geometry will
automatically be made to the analysis results so synchronization is
never an issue.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask them.

This mentions that the Forming Technologies Inc. sheet metal forming
simulation software imports and exports files to Catia? Who can confirm
this?
